Senior Hurlers Snatch Late Win Against Crokes
A thrilling contest saw our Senior Hurlers edge out Kilmacud Crokes in a dramatic finish. Syls led 1-8 to 0-9 at halftime in a game where the margin never stretched beyond two or three points. Crokes took control early in the second half, but in the dying minutes, Syls turned the game on its head. A brilliantly struck free from just outside the 21-yard line found the back of the net, putting Syls ahead by a point before they added one more from play to seal the 2-18 to 1-19 victory. A huge performance, with standout scoring contributions helping to secure the win. That makes it two wins from two—a strong start to the season!
Second Team Falls Just Short Against Crokes
It was a much tighter affair for our Second Hurling Team, who battled hard at home against the same opposition but just fell short, 1-15 to 2-13. A strong performance, but luck wasn’t on their side this time.
U15s Claim Féile Round 2 Victory in Physical Battle
The second round of Féile saw our U15s dig deep to overcome a strong Naomh Barróg side in Bridgefield. In a physically intense contest, a late goal and a couple of crucial points sealed the win for Syls. Final score: 2-13 to 3-7—a brilliant result as the lads continue their Féile campaign.
Minor Footballers Push Pats All the Way
In MFL1, Syls came agonizingly close to a comeback victory against St. Pats, finishing just one point short at 1-09 to 1-08. Playing against a strong wind in the first half, the lads dug deep in the second, closing the gap but just running out of time. Plenty of positives to take from the performance!
2017 Girls Shine in Broomfield Blitz
Fantastic fun in the sun this morning at Broomfield, as the 2017 girls hosted a brilliant football blitz with Naomh Barróg and Trinity Gaels. Great skills, teamwork, and plenty of smiles all around as the young stars put on a fantastic display. Well done to all involved—days like these are what it’s all about!
