Saturday, March 15th

Our U14 boys put in a fantastic performance against Ballyboden St Endas A, securing a commanding 3-7 to 0-6 victory. A rock-solid defense and sharp attacking play ensured they kicked off their campaign in style.

Despite the almost empty schedule for boys games this weekend, it was still a perfect morning for hurling as the 2011 & 2012 boys took to the pitch for a mixed match full of skill, teamwork, and plenty of energy! With the sun shining and the sliotars flying, the lads had a great fun in the sun !

The U15 girls faced tough opposition. T2 battled hard against Scoil Uí Chonaill but fell short in a 5-7 to 1-7 loss. T3 put in a spirited effort but came up against a strong St Finians Swords B side, finishing 9-4 to 3-9. These matches will stand to the players as they progress through the season.

Sunday, March 16th

The Senior Ladies continued their Go-Ahead Cup Division 1 campaign with a 3-7 to 2-8 victory over O'Dwyers. Manager Dave Ryan was keen to highlight the achievement:  "We had seven 18-year-old players on the pitch today, winning a game in Div 1 Cup. This is proof that all the work being done at underage level—by players, coaches, and the club—is paying off. Not many clubs can boast this. Keep up the great work! 💚💙"

And in some off-the-pitch fun, Brian Sullivan stepped up for Syls on 2FM, ahead of the match, taking on an opponent from O’Dwyers in a pre-match quiz. And just like the senior ladies on the pitch, he got the win.

The U16 girls also got their Division 2 league campaign off to a winning start with a hard-fought 4-6 to 2-8 victory over St Judes in Tymon. A dominant first-half display saw them lead by 10 points at the break, but while they couldn’t maintain that intensity for the full 60 minutes, they held on for a 4-point win. Plenty to work on, but a great start to the season! 🟢🔵

Our U14 girls had mixed results. the T2 fell to Clontarf B in a narrow 3-10 to 3-8 loss, but T3 produced a stunning performance, running out 7-13 to 1-2 winners over Lucan Sarsfields D.

The U13 girls had a strong weekend securing a fantastic 2-13 to 1-1 victory over Lucan Sarsfields, showcasing impressive attacking play and a rock-solid defense.  T2 lost 0-6 to 2-3 against Kilmacud Crokes B, while T3 put in a battling performance but were edged out 1-2 to 1-7 by Na Fianna C in Division 13N.

Inter-County Update

It was another busy weekend on the girls inter-county front, with several Syls players representing Dublin.

In U14 Dublin girls football, Dublin had mixed fortunes, securing a win over Carlow but suffering a tough loss against Kildare. Anna Le Blanc and Leah Rochford both played well, putting in strong performances despite the team not quite hitting their usual standard. They’ll regroup and go again on March 29th.

At U16 level, Dublin faced a tough challenge against Kildare and unfortunately came out on the wrong side of the result. A huge well done to Julie Chauvire and Eva Healy Dillon for representing their club !
