From fierce Friday battles to Sunday morning blitzes, our Syls teams were out in force again this weekend. Here’s how it all went down—from our tiniest tots to our mighty minors to our savage seniors!
Thursday & Friday Evening Feeling
Our 3rd Adult Hurlers vs Naomh BarrĂłg started the month of May with May Day magic at the Castle pitch producing a brilliant second-half comeback to earn a well-deserved draw against Naomh BarrĂłg, finishing 3-15 to 2-18. Full of heart, hustle, and no shortage of skill, this team keeps growing stronger with each outing
U13 Div 1 Camogie vs Ballyboden
A high-octane clash on the AWP saw our U13 camogie squad deliver a thrilling display of skill and spirit. The girls were on fire from the first whistle, with slick striking and brave defending leading to a cracking 6-5 to 1-4 win. Pure camogie magic!
Saturday Showdowns
U13 Hurlers visit Ballygunner
Both of our U13 hurling squads hit the road for a super day out at Ballygunner GAA. Two highly competitive matches with plenty of intensity and passion on display. Great experience, great opposition, and a great day of hurling all round!
2016 (U9) Girls Football Blitz
Our 2016 girls enjoyed a fab Saturday morning playing football away to Fingallians and Na Fianna. Their hand passing, soloing, and kicking were on point, with plenty of scores and even more smiles across all teams. Huge thanks to our hosts!
Senior Hurlers vs Fingallians
Saturday evening brought a big one—local derby vs Fingallians—and our senior hurlers rose to the occasion in style. A sharp, confident performance saw Syls come out on top 1-21 to 1-14 at home. A satisfying win with real grit behind it.
Super Sunday
2017 Girls Football vs Castleknock & St Brigid’s
Our youngest footballers—the 2017 girls—hosted Castleknock and St Brigid’s at Broomfield and gave it absolutely everything. Every girl gave it socks, showing bags of enthusiasm and determination. The future’s in great hands!
2016 Girls Football Blitz
A massive morning for our 2016 girls—7 teams in total hit the pitch! We had 4 teams at home vs Na Fianna and 3 away to Castleknock GAA. The girls brought energy, teamwork, and serious skill. No doubt they were still buzzing from a midweek visit by the amazing 2025 Dublin Féile champions—who clearly passed on their winning vibes! Well done all!
U16 Div 7 Football vs St Pat’s Donabate
In their Single Code Red clash, our U16s gave everything in a tightly contested game against St Pat’s Donabate. They battled bravely all the way to the final whistle but just fell short. A strong showing nonetheless—plenty of positives!
Minor C Football vs Thomas Ashe
A big result on the road for our Minor C footballers, who turned in a cracking team performance to beat Thomas Ashe 3-12 to 1-7. Clinical finishing, solid defending—this group is really finding form. Syls Abú!
Minor A Football vs Oliver Plunketts ER
Our Minor A footballers finished off the weekend in style, taking down third-placed Oliver Plunketts at home with a commanding 6-14 to 3-12 win. A confident, attacking display that sets them up perfectly for the weeks ahead. Huge shift from the lads!
And finally, thanks to Cian Whitney of the Senior Hurlers for leading the 2014’s in a bank holiday morning training session. Some great Camogie in the morning sun.
What a busy start to May for the club! Thanks to our amazing lead mentors, volunteers, parents, and hosts. From first solo to last score. Also to Dan Clohessy and Elaine Rooney for the minor football photos.
