Saturday Highlights

2017 Boys (U8) had a brilliant day in the sunshine. Pod 1 and 2 were on the road to O’Tooles and St Maurs, while Pod 3 held the fort at home versus Raheny. The effort, teamwork, and sharp skills were top drawer. 🌞🍦

2016 Boys (U9) hosted Skerries and Na Fianna in Broomfield and showed some serious class. Great scores, great spirit – this team keeps rising!

The intrepid 2017s were at it again, this time facing Raheny at home and making a daring voyage to Castleknock. Fueled by pure grit—and maybe a few PEJs (Performance Enhancing Jellies)—they gave it everything. Legends in the making!

2015 Girls (U10) had a great camogie morning. Away to Naomh Barrog they were buzzing, and when their home opponent dropped out, they kept the sliotars flying in mini games among themselves. Dedication never rests! 💪

2014 Boys (U11) were in full force, sending three teams to Stillorgan to take on Kilmacud Crokes and hosting three more at Bridgefield. Tremendous football on show all around.

2013 Boys (U12 T3) travelled to Ballyboden and came away convincing winners – 5:12 to 1:03. Classy stuff!

2010 Girls (U15) had a double delight:

The A team edged Clontarf in a game of two halves. Leading by 16 at the break, they weathered a second-half rally to remain unbeaten—five from five and nearly over the line for the league title!

The B team served up a thriller, beating Parnells 11-19 to 8-3. That win keeps them top of the table, but a playoff awaits to decide the title. No shortage of excitement there !

Sunday Spotlight

U15 Boys Football – 1st Team (Div 1):
A tough result for the lads against a strong Ballyboden side who found the net too often. Despite the 6-13 to 1-9 scoreline, there were encouraging moments of play and some well-worked scores that the group can build on in training.

U15 Boys Football – 2nd Team (Div 7):
Trailing by 9 at half time, the second team showed serious bottle in the third quarter, hauling themselves back into the game through a determined comeback. A narrow defeat, with Na Fianna edging it 4-11 to 2-10, but the effort and grit were top class. One to be proud of!

U15 Boys Football – 3rd Team (Div 11):
Another close one in a goal-fest against Round Towers (Clondalkin). The lads fought hard but just came up short, with a final score of 8-07 to 7-08. A spirited performance that deserved more!

U16 Girls Football (Div 7):
St Sylvesters B pushed Geraldine P Morans all the way in a high-scoring encounter, falling narrowly short at 6-11 to 5-9. End-to-end stuff, with fantastic attacking play and a team performance full of heart.

U14 Girls Football (Div 1):
A strong showing against a very polished St Vincents side. The 4-10 to 2-9 final score doesn’t reflect how competitive Syls were across the pitch. Plenty to take forward from the display.

And finally, our U16 div2 girls secured the league with a great win against a good Fingallians side this afternoon in the castle. The girls were really up for the game and played some lovely football to run out 8-8 to 1-8 winners.. their efforts throughout the year have been outstanding and they got their just rewards. One league game left and then onto Div 1 championship in September.🟢🔵

From early-morning throw-ins to Sunday comebacks and camogie clashes, it was another mighty weekend for Syls’ juveniles. Thanks to all our players, mentors and families for the passion and support. The future's bright—and blue and green!
