Here’s how our young footballers, hurlers, and camógs fared over a busy sunny weekend of GAA action.
Thursday 15th May
U16 Hurling
Our U16 hurlers put in a strong showing against Fingallians midweek and finished their league campaign with a win
Saturday 17th May
Camogie
U15 Div 2
St Sylvester's A 1-5 V 1-4 Erin Go Bragh A
A tight win for the U15 camogie girls who edged past EGB by a single point in a gritty performance. Great game management in the second half saw Syls hold firm.
Hurling
U13 Div 1
St Sylvesters A 1-8 V 4-15 Lucan Sarsfields A
Tough day out for our U13A hurlers against a slick Lucan side. A strong first half wasn’t enough to hold off the visitors’ second-half surge.
U13 Div 6
Ballinteer St Johns B 2-10 V 2-1 St Sylvesters B
A competitive match for the B team who kept battling to the final whistle. The experience will stand to them going forward.
Sunday 18th May
Camogie
U13 Grading League Group 1
Naomh Brid A 2-8 V 4-1 St Sylvesters A
A big shift from the U13A girls who hit 4 goals but just came up short on the points tally. Some cracking passages of play in this one.
U13 Grading League Group 6
Wanderers A 0-0 V 10-5 St Sylvesters B
An outstanding display from the B team – a clean sheet at one end and a scoring blitz at the other.
Hurling
U15 League Div 3
Naomh Olaf A 3-18 V 2-15 St Sylvesters
What a shootout! Despite a cracking 2-15 return, our U15s were edged out by a strong Olaf’s outfit in a high-quality encounter.
Football
U16 LGFA – Single Code Red
Ballymun Kickhams 4-11 V 2-6 St Sylvesters B
The girls never gave up against a well-organised Ballymun side. Some great link play and a solid second-half showing were positives to take home.
U16A LGFA – Single Code Green
A brilliant away win to Foxcab for our U16A girls. They led from the start and despite the tight finish, held on to win 4-10 to 4-08. Classy football in tough conditions.
And finally...
PJP Schools Team – Fingal League Champs
Huge congrats to Pope John Paul II's senior school team – packed with Syls players from the 2012–2014 squads – who lifted the Fingal League title in Abbotstown. Great achievement and a proud moment for school and club alike.
Congratulations to Killian Woods & Will Hannon who proudly represented Cumann na mBunscol Dublin today at the Kilkenny v Dublin Leinster Hurling match at Nolan Park.
MASSIVE well done to all players, coaches, volunteers and organisers of this year's Mini All Irelands on Saturday. Fun in the sun ☀️ ☀️
