Wednesday 1st October – Minor Football Championship
Our 2nd team Minor footballers got the week off to a flying start with a superb 5-11 to 2-15 win away to St Patrick’s (P). A brilliant attacking display from the lads who worked tirelessly from start to finish to seal a well-deserved victory — and their reward is a home quarter-final in two weeks’ time. 🔵🟢
Friday 3rd October – Senior Ladies Football Championship Final, Parnell Park
A huge night under the lights in Parnell Park as our Senior Ladies lined out in the Dublin Senior A Championship Final. Despite a brave and determined performance, it wasn’t to be this time as Kilmacud Crokes claimed the title. This Syls team can be immensely proud — unbeaten through the group stages, playing superb football throughout, and inspiring the next generation of girls in the club. Their run to the final is a further step forward for Ladies Football at Syls and showed just how bright the future is. 💙👏
Saturday & Sunday – Minor & Adult Championships
🏐 Junior Football Championship
💪 Semi-final awaits for our Adult 4th team! Our Junior B men turned on the style at home in their Championship Quarter Final, storming past Lucan Sarsfields 7-16 to 2-7. A thrilling attacking display saw scores spread across the team — Micheál (4-12) leading the way, Sean Keogh (2-1), Paul Downey (1-0), Jack Brady (0-2), and points from Dylan and Bonvo (0-1 each) completing the tally.
An emphatic win and a place in the Championship Semi-Final the reward for an outstanding team effort. 🔵🟢

Meanwhile, our Junior A men (3rd team) secured Junior 2 status for next season with a 12–7 win away to St Vincent's in their relegation final — a gritty, determined display capped by great leadership from the sidelines. Well done to Syls stalwart Aido for another year at the helm for the juniors which was acknowledged by the players after the game. 👏👏👏
🏐 Intermediate Football Championship
Our Intermediate footballers battled hard away to Thomas Davis in their final group game but fell short 1-19 to 1-8. This side will bounce right back in 2026 and will have gained valuable experience and depth for the seasons ahead.
⚾️ Minor A Hurling Championship Group 3
A commanding performance from our Minor A hurlers, who defeated Naomh Barrog 2-15 to 1-10 in Broomfield. Classy scores, strong defending, and brilliant teamwork on display.💪

It was another huge Saturday for our minor girls, with all three teams in action:
- The A team drew with Cuala after a fierce contest played in difficult conditions.
- The B team edged Crumlin by a single point to book their Cup Final spot against O’Toole’s.
- And the C team, with results elsewhere going their way, will contest the Shield Final against Whitehall Colmcille in two weeks’ time.
Fantastic work from all involved — the future of Ladies Football at Syls looks stronger than ever. 💙💚
A week of pride, passion, and perseverance. From Parnell Park to Broomfield, the blue and green keeps flying high.
