It was a weekend packed with football across the grades as our Minor, U16 and U14 sides gave everything in their Championship and Shield campaigns. From final heartbreaks to brilliant away wins, there was no shortage of effort, passion or pride.
π Minors β A Weekend of Pride and Promise
Both our Minor A and Minor D footballers battled bravely in their Championship finals but narrowly missed out on silverware.
The results may not have gone our way, but the performances were full of fight and quality. The heart shown by both panels was immense, and the football on display was of the highest standard. With a mix of U17 and U18 players across the squads, thereβs huge optimism for the seasons ahead β our U18s now stepping into adult football and our U17s already hungry for another crack at the Minor Championship next year.
This group is a brilliant reflection of the player pathway at Syls β talented, committed, and connected right through from the Academy to adult level.

π’ Under 21 Championship
A tough outing for our U21s against a strong Ballyboden side, but plenty of encouraging moments and a solid foundation to build on as this group continues to mature at the top end of juvenile football.
U16 Football Championship
The U16s put in two strong displays. The B side battled all the way against a talented Na Fianna team, while the C team produced a superb away performance, hitting 4-17 in a commanding Shield victory over Cuala B. The U16A play their semi in 2 weeks time!
πͺ U14 Football Shield
Our U14s gave everything across two cracking Shield games. The A team pushed Clontarf to the wire in an end-to-end Division 1 contest, while the B side came away with a fine win away to Good Counsel / Liffey Gaels β five goals sealing the deal in style.
π΅π’ One Club, One Future
While some results didnβt fall our way, the weekend was another showcase of the strength, depth, and spirit across our football teams. From U14s to Minors, the talent coming through is clear β and the future of Syls football looks brighter than ever.
