Another action packed weekend across the club with Championship finals, Cup battles, Shield showdowns and brilliant performances from every corner of Syls.  This round up is organised from our oldest teams to our youngest.

Our Minor B Hurlers – Championship Semi Final put in a massive effort on the AWP against Raheny but just came up short, losing 2-16 to 2-10. A committed display throughout with plenty of positives to take forward.

There was brilliant silverware for the U16 Hurlers in the B Championship Final, who produced an outstanding performance to beat Fingallians 3-11 to 0-14. A display full of heart, accuracy and grit, earning a fantastic Championship title.

The U16 Girls in the Div 1 Football Championship bowed out after a brave battle with a very well organised Clontarf side. With many of the girls moving to minor next season, this was an emotional final outing together. The coaches paid tribute to all they have achieved and wished every one of our 2009 players the very best as they step into their next chapter.

Celebrations continued with the U15 Girls Div 1 Football Championship Final, who defeated Ballinteer St Johns 4-15 to 5-03 in a thrilling contest. A tremendous achievement for this exceptional group.

The U14 Girls in the Div 2 Football Cup Final put in a gutsy display away to Ballyboden, pushing them throughout before losing 4-7 to 7-8 in a high scoring battle. A brave effort from the girls.

The U14 Boys in the Div 7 Football Shield Final delivered another strong performance but were edged out 3-9 to 3-4 by Fingallians despite creating plenty of chances. A great season of progress.

The U11 2014 Boys – Challenge Match had a fun out in UCD against Judes, showing teamwork, spirit and plenty of development.

There were two major football fixtures for the U13 Girls. Our Div 7 team in a Cup Semi Final booked their place in the final with a brilliant win over Man O’War. Our Div 1 team in their Shield Final competed fiercely against Castleknock but lost 1-5 to 2-9 after a determined effort.

In league action, the U13 Boys Div 5 Football League ended their season impressively with a 10-11 to 3-7 win over Lucan Sarsfields, securing second place in the league after a year of clear development.

The 2016 Girls – Go Games (U9) enjoyed a brilliant finish to their year as four stars from our 2010 girls Leah, Ailbhe, Julie and Alex arrived with their trophy and the senior ladies silverware, inspiring the younger group as they break for winter.

The 2017 Girls – Go Games (U8) closed out their 2025 calendar at home to Castleknock and were delighted to be joined by members of the victorious 2015 camogie squad who brought the cup to share with the younger girls.

The 2018 Girls – Go Games (U7) were in sensational form in their matches against Naomh Mearnog, bringing great enthusiasm and skills to the pitch.

And finally…
A massive congratulations to Kate Sullivan this weekend on being named a TG4 All Star for 2025. Kate is a role model for so many of our younger players, leading by example through her hard work, commitment and constant drive to improve. A huge achievement and very well deserved. Well done Kate, you are a huge inspiration and make us all so proud. πŸ’™πŸ’š

From Championship triumphs to Go Games magic to All Stars, it was a weekend full of Syls spirit across every age group.
