Championship Weekend
It was another big weekend on the Championship front with several Syls teams competing in finals and semi finals. The results did not fall our way this time but the scale of representation at the business end of competitions is a phenomenal reflection of the work being done across the club.
And with the last 3 finals still to come, we are far from hanging up the hats and scarves for Christmas.

Juvenile Action Round Up
2014 Boys Hurling
Friday Night Lights delivered the goods as three hurling teams welcomed Na Fianna to the all weather. A brilliant finish to their year.
2015 Girls Football
Our Under 10 group hosted Fingallians, St Pats Donabate and Erin Go Bragh in Malahide Castle for a cracking morning of football. Sharp hand passing, big work rate and plenty of scores on show. The squad keeps growing and they fielded eight teams today which says everything about their spirit and togetherness.
2016 Boys Football
Bridgefield was buzzing for their internal end of season blitz and the boys rose to the occasion. Strong blocking, crisp handpassing, accurate point scoring and plenty of teamwork in every game. Huge credit to the captains for leading the way and to the internal referees who were superb throughout. A big future ahead for this bunch.
2017 Boys Hurling
All three pods came together in the Castle for their final hurling challenge of the year against a large Clontarf squad. Six pitches running and three games each made it a brilliant way to wrap up the season. Great to see everyone mixing and competing together.
2018 Boys Football
Another fun football outing for the lads as they faced neighbours Naomh Mearnog. The skills keep going up every week and the improvement across the group is clear to see. A lovely way to round out the year.

Coach the Coaches Finale
Twenty nine hardy coaches braved the cold for the last hurling and camogie session of the series last Wednesday, focusing on the older age groups. Huge thanks to the girls from the 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014 groups who showcased games and skills on the night. Massive appreciation to Mike O'Dwyer for planning and running all three evenings. Over one hundred coaches took part across the series and every one of them headed home a little wiser. A fantastic club effort.

A Season of Edges, Effort and Endless Spirit
It has been another huge step forward for the club this season with multiple teams reaching Championship and Shield knockout stages across football, hurling and ladies football. We celebrated some brilliant wins and endured a few tough losses. We had Feile wins, championship highs, near misses and what if moments.
This season had it all.
There were days when the bounce of the ball favoured us and days when it did not, but that is the nature of sport; glory is often a whisker away, and learning is never far behind.
The near misses are not setbacks though, they are stepping stones. What matters most is that the progress is real and visible. The number of our teams still competing deep into November says everything about the strength and depth of our juvenile section and the work happening behind the scenes. Rising numbers, dedicated coaching and player pathways are now bearing fruit. What we are seeing at the older age levels is not luck; it is the result of years of development, steady progress and a club culture that brings players through every stage with confidence and purpose.
These are the signs of a club moving in the right direction, building experience, developing leaders and shaping teams that will return stronger, smarter and hungrier in the seasons ahead.
Enjoy the festive break and many thanks for all your amazing photos and snippets during 2025 !
