We're  delighted to announce our 2026 Coaching Conference, taking place on Saturday 17 January from 10am to 2pm in Broomfield and Malahide Community School. Theory sessions will be held in MCS, followed by on-pitch practical demonstrations in Broomfield.

This year’s conference brings two outstanding Coach Developers to Malahide, each with a wealth of experience in player development, coaching practice, and shaping how the modern game is understood and taught. Places are limited, so early registration is strongly advised.

Our opening session (10am to 11.30am) is led by Sean Kelly, Kilkenny GAA Talent Academy Performance Lead. Sean is regarded as one of the most progressive Coach Developers in the country, with hands-on experience supporting coaches and developing players at every stage of the pathway.

His session will look at practical coaching behaviours, how to design sessions that maximise learning, and how to communicate effectively so that players take ownership of their development.

From 11.30am to 12.15pm, coaches can enjoy refreshments while StatSports deliver a short presentation on their performance platforms. Their team will showcase how modern tracking tools can support player development, monitor workloads, and help coaches make better decisions across the season.

Our second session (12.15pm to 1.45pm) is delivered by Philip Kerr, former Derry manager, Ulster GAA tutor and author of several respected coaching books.

Philip’s experience spans from Nursery to Senior Inter-County, bringing a unique perspective on how players learn, how decisions are shaped, and how coaches can build understanding and improve team performance. His session will explore the practical coaching methods that drive clarity, confidence and consistency on the pitch.

As part of the day, both Coach Developers will provide live on-pitch demonstrations, showing how to deliver clear messages, create engaging coaching environments, and help players see the game in new and more effective ways.
